The DOD’s Test Resource Management Center (TRMC), acting through the Training and Readiness Accelerator II (TReX II) Other Transaction Authority (OTA) vehicle, has issued five Request for Solutions (RFS) solicitations related to directed energy test (DET) prototype projects.

The five DET projects are:

  • TReX II-25-02 RED-082: DET_ High Energy Laser (HEL)_01 – Aerosol Content Along Beam Path (Measurement & Modeling)
  • TReX II-25-02 RED-083: DET_ High Power Microwave (HPM)_01 – High Power Radio Frequency Modulator Test Set to Drive a Variety of HPM Tubes (HPMM)
  • TReX II-25-02 RED-084: DET_HPM_02 – Moderate High Powered Microwave (HPM) X-Band Source with High Pulse Rate Frequency (PRF)
  • TReX II-25-02 RED-085: DET_HPM_03 – HPM Damage Assessment (HAD) Sensor for Testing of Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) Targets
  • TReX II-25-02 RED-086: DET_HPM_04 – Gigahertz Transverse Electromagnetic Cell X-band Driver (GTEMX)

Managed by Advanced Technology International, the TReX II consortium was established to “spur innovative development, demonstration and expedited delivery of prototypes to increase Warfighter readiness via modeling, simulation, education/training, experimental validation and military readiness focused projects.” Consortium members can respond to the RFS with proposals by March 24.
