Patriots’ Roost Tours Italian Tall Ship Amerigo Vespucci

The AOC Patriots’ Roost hosted a VIP visit and tour of the Italian tall ship Amerigo Vespucci on July 12, welcoming members, guests and family to the event.

The visit was arranged through Italian Senior Attaché Maj. Gen. Davide Marzinotto, who assigned Naval Attaché Capt. Pasquale Perrotta to coordinate the tour with the Amerigo Vespucci. Fifty-two chapter members and guests were the first group to board the ship at 1:45 p.m.

During the visit, the chapter presented the attaché and the ship’s commander with a picture plaque featuring the Praetorian Chapter and Patriots’ Roost logos. In return, the ship’s crew gave the chapter a large book about the Amerigo Vespucci. Each attendee also received a special chapter coin commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States.

Organizers called the event a success, with a great time had by all.
