German Chapter Hosts Electronic Warfare Briefing Event
The AOC German Chapter/Red Baron Roost held its fourth briefing event of 2025 on November 13 at the Electronic Warfare Command facility in Daun in the Volcanic Eifel region.
More than 50 attendees from defense industry, research institutions, Ministry of Defense organizations, and military personnel gathered to receive updates on Germany’s electronic warfare capabilities. BrigGen Richert and his command hosted the event, which featured three presentations from the EW Command and EloKa Battalion covering reconnaissance operations, future EW developments, and training center achievements. Richert was joined by speakers Col Messelhaeusser and Capt Zittlau.
The evening also included a presentation by Chapter Director Commander Malte von Spreckelsen on capability coalitions supporting Ukraine’s electronic warfare needs. Von Spreckelsen coordinated and moderated the event.
Following the briefings, attendees networked over refreshments sponsored by new chapter member SAAB Deutschland. Chapter President GenMaj Michael Traut delivered welcome remarks via video.
The chapter introduced its 2026 lecture calendar and recognized the presentations’ reflection of Germany’s “Zeitenwende (Turn of an Era)” defense transformation. Richert, a 2006 AOC Military Service International Medal recipient, continues his strong advocacy for electronic warfare initiatives within the German Armed Forces.
