ARA Appoints New CTO to Advance Next-Generation Defense Technologies
Adil Karim will lead ARA’s technology strategy and product evolution
Laurel, MD – Antenna Research Associates (ARA), a leading provider of advanced antenna and RF systems for defense and industrial applications, announced the appointment of Adil Karim as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) on November 3. Karim will lead the development, integration, and execution of the company’s product roadmap in support of its defense and national security customers, promoting the company’s growth and differentiation in the C5ISR space.

Karim brings extensive experience in business development and technical leadership across complex defense systems. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Strategy and Mission Solutions at Northrop Grumman, where he oversaw business development, investment strategy, external partnerships, and mission analysis across three business units. He previously served as Director of Capability Integration at Northrop Grumman and earlier as Chief Engineer for Architecture Initiatives in the U.S. Air Force’s Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics sector.
Karim holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara, an M.S. in Optics from the University of Rochester, and a B.S. in Applied Physics from the California Institute of Technology.
As CTO, Karim will be a key architect of ARA’s technology vision, product evolution, and applied innovation across antennas, RF systems, and integrated subsystems. He will oversee ARA’s product portfolio and R&D roadmap and serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team, ensuring tight alignment between engineering, product development, business development, and manufacturing.
