JED Primers

The AOC has published the Journal of Electromagnetic Dominance (JED) since 1977, and it maintains a large archive of articles covering a variety defense technology topics. JED Primers are a selection of our best feature articles, technology surveys and news stories focused around specific Electromagnetic Warfare-related topics to help deepen your knowledge of Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (EMSO).

With these JED Primers, our aim is to provide a succinct resource not only for industry experts but for all defense professionals who are not necessarily Electronic Warfare (EW) or Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) experts but may want to build their understanding of specific areas of Electromagnetic Warfare by providing a window into this unique and specialized field.

JED Primers are organized around Electromagnetic Warfare operational concepts, mission areas, weapons platforms and technologies. Please check back often, as we are constantly adding new primer topics, as well as new articles within each topic. While most of the materials are curated from the JED archives, we will also add materials from other sources if we think they are concise and useful to you.

We value your time, so we are not trying to give you a deep dive on each of these JED Primer topics. However, if the articles in JED interest you, we encourage you to join the Association of Old Crows, which will enable you gain wider access to the AOC professional community via networking events and courses, in addition to receiving JED every month.
