Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) has been awarded a five-year indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract from the US Navy for the provision of engineering and equipment support for cryptologic technology.
Valued at $35.7 million, the Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic contract covers SwRI antenna systems equipping both ships and airborne platforms. Work will run through to June 2029. The contract also includes a two-year, U$14 million option which, if exercised, would extend the contract through to 2031.
The airborne equipment covered by this IDIQ contract is the MBA-350 VHF/UHF system fielded onboard classified aircraft to provide direction finding and signal acquisition in support of the Navy’s Airborne Electronic Attack Systems Program Office (PMA-234). The shipboard component comprises SwRI antenna systems associated with the Ship’s Signal Exploitation Equipment (SSEE).
The Defense and Intelligence Division of SwRI (San Antonio, TX)) develops cryptologic intelligence systems to detect, geo-locate, analyze and identify encrypted or coded communications signals. This IDIQ contract includes support services for associated equipment from installation, calibration, integration and training to life-cycle logistics support, spare parts management, maintenance, repair and technology updates.
