SwRI Opens Georgia Facility to Advance National Defense Technology
Southwest Research Institute (SwRI) celebrated the grand opening of its new $18.5 million, 33,000-square-foot facility in Warner Robins, Georgia, this past August. This milestone marks SwRI’s first owned facility outside its San Antonio, Texas headquarters, representing a strategic expansion in support of national defense technology and electronic warfare innovation.
Members of SwRI’s Advanced Electronic Warfare Department, along with SwRI’s Vice President of Defense and Intelligence and Chief Operating Officer, joined local dignitaries including the mayor, economic developers, and Robins Air Force Base leadership for the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp emphasized the facility’s importance, stating, “This new location represents a significant strategic investment into our national defenses, electronic warfare innovation and continued collaboration with Robins Air Force Base.”
Located just three miles from Robins Air Force Base, the state-of-the-art facility houses the Defense and Intelligence Solutions Division (Division 16) and features advanced laboratories, offices, and conference rooms. The building is equipped to develop cutting-edge aerospace and electronic warfare technologies, serving Department of Defense and Foreign Military Sales customers across multiple branches, including US Air Force, Army, and Navy installations.
An AOC Partner member, SwRI maintains an active presence in the defense community, specifically sponsoring and presenting at AOC events and educational programs.
