Association of Old Crows (AOC) President Anthony “Tony” Lisuzzo and AOC Garden State Chapter Board Member Robert “Bob” Zanzalari were recognized by InfoAge on October 4 for their achievements in intelligence and electromagnetic warfare.
Lisuzzo was honored for his work in intelligence and information warfare. He currently serves as President/CEO of Ironwave Technologies LLC, designing, developing, and manufacturing RF components and subsystems for domestic and international defense customers for application in electromagnetic warfare, radar, and communication systems.
His career bridges industry and government in the research, design, development, and deployment of sophisticated electronic warfare and cyber offense and defense systems, intelligence, information operations, navigation, communication, and command and control systems. He previously served as Vice President and General Manager for East Coast Operations at Shipcom Federal Solutions and as Senior Vice President at Joint Research and Development (JRAD) Inc., where he established the C4ISR Group.
Before transitioning to private industry, Lisuzzo served as Vice President of Defense, Intelligence, Strategic Innovation, and Advanced Engineering with Booz Allen Hamilton, managing a $250M portfolio. He also served as Vice President and General Manager for L3 Communication’s Space and Navigation Division.
In federal service, Lisuzzo was a Senior Executive Service(SES) member with the US Army Communication Electronic Research, Development, and Engineering Center, serving as Director of the Intelligence and Information Warfare Directorate. He served on two blue ribbon panels for foreign military sales and technology exchange and chaired numerous NATO Technology committees, receiving NATO’s Science and Technology R&D Award.
He is the recipient of numerous Defense Department awards, including the Presidential Meritorious Medal. He is also an AOC Gold Medal Award and received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to the electromagnetic warfare mission.
Zanzalari was honored for his work in electromagnetic warfare and survivability. He concluded his career as Associate Director of the Communications – Electronics Research, Development and Engineering Center, where he established the Center’s comprehensive Science and Technology (S&T) portfolio spanning C5ISR technologies and systems across multiple life cycle stages.
As a recognized expert in platform survivability, Zanzalari served 18 years in leadership roles including Division Chief, Branch Chief, and Project Leader within the Electronic Combat Division of the Intelligence and Information Warfare Directorate. The division’s programs addressed both on-board and off-board survivability systems, including radar, laser, electro-optic, infrared warning, and countermeasure systems. He oversaw research and development activities focused on advancing Integrated ASE concepts designed to provide aircrew with a comprehensive threat picture and assessment of countermeasure effectiveness.
His technical contributions included innovation in subsystem technologies, such as developing advanced power amplifiers for electronic countermeasures, antenna technologies to enhance frequency range coverage, and the development and validation of electronic countermeasure techniques through laboratory and flight testing against emerging threat systems.
Zanzalari served as the inaugural Project Leader and Concept Developer for the AN/ALQ-211 Suite of Integrated RF Countermeasures, acting as systems engineer and technical lead for both the Advanced Development and Engineering Manufacturing Development programs. He was also a key contributor to the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency’s MIMIC program, which advanced research in materials, device design, integration, and manufacturing, driving progress in solid-state electronics.
The awards ceremony also recognized New Jersey State Sen. Vin Gopal with the Chairman’s Award for his support of New Jersey’s living WWII memorial and Raymond F. Chase with the Patriot’s Award for his work benefiting the InfoAge Radio organization.
The Information Age Learning Center, located on the former 1912 Marconi Wireless Receiving Station and WWII-era Camp Evans in Wall Township, is a nonprofit educational organization and consortium of 20 science and history museums dedicated to preserving New Jersey’s technology and military history. In partnership with AOC’s Garden State and Susquehanna Chapters, InfoAge coordinated the transfer of a SIGINT RC-12 aircraft from Lakehurst to Camp Evans, which has become a significant attraction and is housed in the expanded EW, Intel, and Radar Pavilion.
