The US Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), US Air Force Intelligence Surveillance Reconnaissance & Special Operations Forces (ISR & SOF) Directorate, Offensive Small Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (sUAS) System Program Office (SPO), has issued a Request for Information (RFI) for a Group 3 uncrewed aerial system (UAS) for EW and communications relay applications to fulfill Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) requirements. More specifically, the SPO has issued a “Signature Managed (SM) Group 3 sUAS and Low Size, Weight and Power, and Cost (SWaP-C) Communication and Control (C2)/Data Relay (DR) and Electronic Warfare (EW) Technology” RFI. The SPO is seeking two drone payload configurations – one for C2/DR and another for EW – to be used in swarm deployments. For those companies responding for the C2/DR and EW payloads, responses can include complete systems or “enabling technological solutions” such as “radios, datalinks, processors, computing on the edge, alternate navigation, etc.” AFSOC plans to field the UAS within 24-36 months. The primary SPO representative is Joshua Carroll, email [email protected]. The Notice ID is FA8629. Responses to the RFI are due by Jan. 17.
